Transitioning from Magetrend to Aheadworks

This guide outlines the policy and technical transition path for former Magetrend customers to new products developed by Aheadworks.

The Transition Framework

Aheadworks has developed a new generation of products based on the original Magetrend concepts. Because these are entirely new builds under a different legal entity, Magetrend licenses do not automatically transfer. To support the community, we provide a symbolic transition path.

1. The Transition Path ($5 Offer)

Former Magetrend customers are eligible to purchase the equivalent Aheadworks product for $5 for the first year.

Access: This provides a brand-new Aheadworks license, full access to the rebuilt codebase, and 12 months of technical support and updates.
Subscription Control: You may cancel the subscription at any time. If canceled, you retain the perpetual right to use the version of the software you were granted access to while the subscription was active.
Post-Subscription: Once the subscription ends, access to new versions, security patches, and technical support will cease, but the software and composer keys will remain functional, however limited to the version as described above.

2. The Legacy Path (Staying with Magetrend)

Customers who wish to continue using their original Magetrend software may do so under the following conditions:

Temporary Infrastructure: Aheadworks currently maintains the original Magetrend licensing infrastructure to allow existing keys to function. However, this is a temporary measure. This infrastructure will be decommissioned in the future, and we do not guarantee its permanent availability.
Zero Technical Support: Aheadworks does not provide debugging, troubleshooting, or technical support for any legacy Magetrend products. If you encounter bugs or compatibility issues with new Magento versions, Aheadworks will not provide fixes.
No Commercial Activity: It is no longer possible to purchase new Magetrend licenses, reactivate expired support periods, or renew Magetrend-specific services as Magetrend business ceased operations.
Code Provision: Upon request and proof of purchase, we can provide you with the last available version of the original Magetrend source code package. Once this package is delivered, Aheadworks has no further obligations regarding its installation or operation.

Technical Limitations & Requirements

Transitioning to an Aheadworks product is a new installation, not an update. Please note the following constraints:

Codebase Incompatibility: Aheadworks extensions are built on a modern, separate architecture. Magetrend license keys and composer credentials will not work with Aheadworks products.
Templates & Data: Because the original Magetrend extensions were fully rebuilt, templates, custom configurations created in Magetrend modules may not be compatible with Aheadworks products and will require manual redevelopment. There are no migration tools or scripts that can be provided.

Legal & Support Policy

Liability: Aheadworks did not acquire the Magetrend business as a "going concern" and is not liable for Magetrend’s past warranties, support obligations, or refund requests.
EULA: All new products purchased through the transition offer are governed by the Aheadworks End User License Agreement.
Support Expiration: Support for original Magetrend products is considered expired. Access to Aheadworks’ technical support is reserved exclusively for customers with an active Aheadworks subscription.
