Aheadworks Extensions: September Updates 2022

We know how important it is to keep you aware of extension updates, so you could start enjoying the new functionality of your extension as soon as possible. That’s why each month we prepare monthly updates review and share it with you. 

All the new features we implement in our extensions aim at increasing productivity and operation of the plugin. Your reviews and feedback become the major impulse for us to work on extensions’ improvement, so if you have any concerns about your extension operation or have an idea of how to improve its functionality, please, let us know

September month has brought us a lot of updates, which were focused on:

  • Enhancing extensions functionality;
  • Improving UI and UX;
  • Updating integrations;
  • Detecting and fixing bugs, etc.

In this review we’ll take a look at the 10 extensions that got major updates this month:

Due to Microsoft Outlook Basic Authentication was announced to be disabled on October 1, Help Desk Ultimate got oauth adapter refactoring. It will help users to keep receiving tickets from Microsoft mailboxes in the helpdesk without obstruction.

In addition, the following issues have been fixed:

  • Issue with GraphQL support
  • Issue for Magento Marketplace
  • Issue with deleting tables after disabling HDU reports extension.

Now you can filter your blog posts in a grid by store view.

With the latest update store admins can set default featured image (placeholder) to avoid situations when featured image is missed on some blog posts.

Now you can also add a link to featured images on a blog page level.

Web API and GraphQL have been updated.

In this version we have fixed an issue with two relations in the table "aw_blog_product_post".

Now extension performance has been improved, so pages can be loaded faster.

To improve frontend performance, requests to the database have been optimized also.

The logic for processing data has been improved.

The anti-fraud feature has been added to avoid situations of fraud or abuse from customers’ side when earning or spending reward points on the website.

Now you can set an amount of product price that is allowed to be paid with reward points on a product level. It gives you an opportunity to set the following conditions for products:

  • Products for which reward points can’t be applied;
  • Products that can be paid with reward points up to 50% of their price;
  • Products that can be fully purchased with reward points.

Web API has been updated.

Besides, the following issues have been fixed:

  • Issue with displaying comment to customer in emails for Magento 2.4.5
  • Issue with displaying the points balance link in the “Welcome customer” dropdown on the Storefront
  • Issue with displaying the Reward points information in the invoice and credit memo via API.

In B2B Suite for Magento 2 version 1.0.7 the following extensions have been updated:

  • M2 Requisition List to version 1.1.3
  • M2 Cart to Quote to version 1.7.6
  • M2 Quick Order to version 1.1.4
  • M2 Company Credit to version 1.1.2
  • M2 Company Accounts to version 1.7.3
  • UI components to version 1.0.2

Now it’s possible to create requests from the backend without attaching it to an order. This feature is helpful to handle requests purchased on a reseller website.

Store admins can print RMA labels with RMA history included. For it, set “Yes” on the Print Request History field.

Web API has been updated.

The issue with displaying products in the created request has been fixed.

To make images or ads to be displayed on the backend, Buildify parsing variables are now enclosed in curly brackets.

Now you can define which types of content (Blog, Static Pages, Product Description, Mobile App, etc.) will enable Buildify page builder and which will use a default Magento page builder.

We’ve also fixed:

  • Issue with Code Sniffer
  • Issue with the Product List slider in Mozilla and Safari on Magento 2.4
  • Issue with updating the version in app
  • Issue for Magento Marketplace
  • Issue with editing and displaying content after updating the module version

Klarna addon for Magento 2.4.4 and higher versions is added.

Now an image of promo products can be displayed on the product page, so customers can see what products you are offering as free gifts or discount items.

It’s also possible to change the order of calculation discounts now. For example, you can make a free gift discount to be applied first and after that the other discount rules.

“Buy X and Get Y” Rule has been updated. Now you can add any quantity of free products as a gift in return for buying any number of primary products (Buy X qty of Product-1 and Get Y qty of product-2).

Simple Bundle support is added. With it, you are able to select Bundle products in rules to offer a free bundle product for customers. To enable Switch to Simple Bundle, you’ll need to create a new product bundle.

Now it’s possible not to apply promo rules to products with special prices. It helps to avoid double discount application.

The issue with adding the Promo Subscription to cart has been added.

The extension now supports native Magento Catalog Price Rules. It allows merchants to configure the rule to show labels when a product price is discounted by Catalog Price Rule. In this case, the variables (save_percent and save_amount) will calculate a discount percent by Catalog Price Rule.

With this update out-of-stock products can get labels. For it, use the condition “Stock Range equals to 0”.

The possibility to enable/disable labels on the product and category page has been added, so that store admins could choose where to highlight their promotions.

Indexation has been improved.

The extension supports the REST API now.
